Brooks Christmas Suprise!

Brooks had a little cold the week before Christmas.  He had a cough that would not go away.  One day he would have a fever but the next day he would be much better, then the fever would be back.  This made me think that he was going to just get better.  Well we had a few Christmas parties that were so fun and he was a trooper so we thought all was well.
The Sunday before Christmas (Christmas Adam) Dallin had to give a talk in Sacrament meeting.  He did amazing!  He was so poised and not nervous at all.  You could hear his whole talk and he even made a funny joke that everyone laughed at.  We were so proud!

Grandma and Grandpa took Brooks home with them from Church because he kept coughing.  While at their house his fever spiked to 103.5 so they took him to the instacare at Riverton Hospital.  The wait there was over 3 hours.  They were still waiting by the time I got there from church and driving up there.  We had a Christmas party at Johnson's so Trent took the boys there and I went to the instacare.  They finally got Brooks back and checked his oxygen and it was not good.  He was at about 87-88.  It would not go up so they put him on oxygen and it still would not go up.  So they decided to do a deep suction to see if that would help.  It was horrible.  They had to wrap him tightly in a blanket then put a tube down his nose deep and suck out the buggars.  He HATED it.  He was crying so hard he was bright red and shaking.  I thought he was having a seizure and started crying too!.  That was over and it still didn't help his sats.  So the next step was to admit him to the hospital.
Trent came over with Shawn and gave him a blessing then he was admitted to the children's ward overnight.  We had the boys stay and Grandma Julie's.  We got checked into the room and I got to snuggle my boy.
This was the first time he had stopped crying all day.  He hated the oxygen and it was such a struggle to keep it on him.  finally they tapped it to his face and he gave in.  Trent drove all the way home to get a few things for us.  He got his favorite blanky and TED the stuffed bear.  Grandma and Papa were there the whole time.  Of course when Uncle Briney found out he came a running (and bawling).  It was so sweet.  He just doesnt handle any craziness well :)
We stayed the night and Brooks slept and slept.  He was exhausted.  His sats still were not going up well.  Through the night and the next day they tried weening him down to a lower level of oxygen.  It took till about 4 on Christmas Eve but we made it!!  We were able to check out with him still on oxygen, pick up the boys and head home to get ready for Santa to come!!

 sleeping just like Daddy
It was great because I got so so so many snuggles!
About noon he got a burst of energy and just wanted to run and run.  They brought him a longer oxygen cord and all these toys and he went to town....This only lasted about 30 min then he climbed back into bed and went to sleep again.

This boy was such a trooper.  He had to have oxygen for a whole week at home but he did awesome!  So glad it didn't get any worse :)
